The index in July continued to stabilise following the initial fluctuations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Foodservice and hospitality businesses were once again permitted to open their doors on July 4th, and while order levels remained comparatively low, a return to business saw demand for food and beverages increase.
The implications for many Index categories which have been disrupted by the pandemic have yet to appear, but it is likely they will start to do so in the months ahead.
